Farkl\u0131 \u015firketler aras\u0131nda el de\u011fi\u015ftirip yenilenen ve elektrikli sisteme ge\u00e7irilen yap\u0131, 1971 tarihinden itibaren de 350 beygirlik elektrik g\u00fcc\u00fcne kavu\u015fmu\u015f\u2026 Bu sayede de kat etmesi gereken 573 metrelik t\u00fcnel hatt\u0131n\u0131 sadece 90 saniyede ge\u00e7ebilmektedir. Ayn\u0131 renkte, ayn\u0131 dokuda olan bu tarih\u00ee tramvay \u0130stiklal Caddesi\u2019nden Galata\u2019ya uzanan tramvay hatt\u0131nda seferlerini s\u00fcrd\u00fcr\u00fcyor. Duraklar\u0131n olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 o g\u00fcnlerde yolcular istedi\u011fi zaman tramvay duruyor, bu y\u00fczden h\u0131z kayb\u0131 ya\u015fan\u0131yordu. T\u00fcrkiye\u2019nin ilk elektrik fabrikas\u0131n\u0131n 1913 y\u0131l\u0131nda kurulmas\u0131 ile 1914\u2019te tramvay \u015febekelerine cereyan verilip elektrikli tramvay i\u015fletmecili\u011fine ge\u00e7i\u015f yap\u0131l\u0131r. Tramvaylar \u0130stanbul\u2019un zaman ge\u00e7tik\u00e7e artan kalabal\u0131\u011f\u0131na ve \u015fehrin h\u0131z\u0131na ayak uyduramad\u0131\u011f\u0131 gerek\u00e7esiyle \u00f6nce 1961 Avrupa, ard\u0131ndan 1966 Anadolu Yakas\u0131\u2019nda son seferlerini yaparak veda etmi\u015ftir.
