Lokomotif ve trenin ayn\u0131 \u015fey oldu\u011fu d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclse de asl\u0131nda farkl\u0131 \u015feylerdir. Rayl\u0131 bir sistemin \u00fcst\u00fcnde dizili vagonlar\u0131 \u00e7ekmeye yarayan makinelere lokomotif denir. Bildi\u011fimiz h\u00e2liyle trenin ilk kullan\u0131m\u0131 ise 1804\u2019te \u0130ngiltere\u2019de Richard Trevithick adl\u0131 bir m\u00fchendisin, maden sahibi ile girdi\u011fi iddia sonucunda olmu\u015ftur. 10 tonluk demir y\u00fck\u00fcn\u00fc 16 kilometre ta\u015f\u0131mak amac\u0131yla kendi yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 buharl\u0131 lokomotif ile 5 saatte \u00e7ekmeyi ba\u015farm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.
